LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles digital media company alleges its videos have been posted on a website without its authorization.

Jukin Media Inc. filed a complaint on Jan. 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Viumbe LLC, doing business as Ebaum's World, and Does 1 through 10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff acquires or licenses internet video contact from the original creators. The plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business from having its videos publicly displayed without authority by the defendants. The plaintiff holds Viumbe LLC and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly have posted hundreds of the plaintiff's videos without permission from the videos' creators or from the plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, statutory damages, injunction against the defendants, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Douglas C. Emhoff, Tamany Vinson Bentz, and Matthew J. Busch of Venable LLP in Los Angeles.
