LOS ANGELES – A textile converter alleges one of its designs was unlawfully used for garments.
Unicolors Inc. filed a complaint on Jan. 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Zhanyou Inc., Jinhai Qin, Shoptiques Inc. and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business as the result of its design being copied. The plaintiff holds Zhanyou, Inc., Jinhai Qin, Shoptiques Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly used their online and retail stores to sell garments that feature plaintiff's EH101 design.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants, all profits, statutory damages, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by C. Yong Jeong, Amy J. Choe and Ryan N. Ostrowski of Jeong & Likens LC in Los Angeles.
