Individual alleged to have defaulted on education loan

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County man is alleged to have defaulted on a student loan.

United States of America filed a complaint on Jan. 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Jay Shim, also known as Jae Shim and Jayyoz Shim, alleging that the individual failed to settle his debt with the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Shim failed to pay the principal amount of his debt plus interest.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $7,220.36 plus interest of $2,731.17 with further interest at 8 percent per annum accruing at $1.58 per day, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by William I. Goldsmith and Michael L. Goldsmith of Goldsmith & Hull, A.P.C. in Northridge.
