LOS ANGELES – An Aliso Viejo owner of a chain of Mexican restaurants claims a Whittier company is using its Taco Life trademark.
Chronic Tacos Enterprises Inc. filed a complaint on Jan. 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Taco Life LLC alleging trademark infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business due to having its trademark being used by another business. The plaintiff holds Taco Life LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly is likely to cause confusion among plaintiff's consumers from using a similar trademark as the plaintiff.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, enhanced damages, disgorgement, injunctive relief, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Stephen T. Holzer of Lewitt, Hackman, Shapiro, Marshall & Harlan in Encino.
