LOS ANGELES – Two California business are alleged to have copied a copyrighted textile design for use in garments without authorization.
Universal Dyeing & Printing Inc. filed a complaint on Feb. 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against DIF Group Inc., doing business as Love Delirious Los Angeles; Vinted Inc.; and Does 1 through 10 alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business from having its UA 14652 design used without its consent. The plaintiff holds DIF Group Inc., doing business as Love Delirious Los Angeles; Vinted Inc.; and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly copied plaintiff's fabric designs and used them on garments being sold in their retail stores.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants, all profits and damages, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Stephen M. Doniger, Scott A. Burroughs and Frank Gregory Casella of Doniger/Burroughs in Venice.
