Universal Dyeing & Printing Inc. claims two entities infringed fabric designs

LOS ANGELES – Skiva International Inc. and Ross Stores Inc. are accused of unlawfully copying two fabric designs.

Universal Dyeing & Printing Inc. filed a complaint on Feb. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Skiva International Inc., Ross Stores Inc. and Does 1 through 10 citing copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business from having two of its fabric designs reproduced without its authority. The plaintiff holds Skiva International Inc., Ross Stores Inc. and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly distributed garments bearing unauthorized print designs.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants, profits, statutory damages, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Stephen M. Doniger, Scott A. Burroughs and Frank Gregory Casella of Doniger/Burroughs in Venice.
