Consumer claims OneMain Financial harassed her with collection calls

Phone 06

RIVERSIDE – An Upland resident alleges a debt collector harassed her with the frequency of its calls.

Angie Herrera filed a complaint on Feb. 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against OneMain Financial Group LLC and Does 1 to 10 citing the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in April 2016, she suffered damages from receiving several collection calls from the defendant. The plaintiff holds OneMain Financial Group LLC and Does 1 to 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly kept on calling the plaintiff on her cellular telephone without prior consent and continued to call after she revoked her consent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages of $1,000, actual damages, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Stuart M. Price of Price Law Group, APC in Encino.
