Spigen Korea Co. alleges patented cellphone case designs are being used by others

LOS ANGELES – Two Haywood individuals and two Las Vegas corporations are accused of producing infringing cellphone cases.

Spigen Korea Co. LTD filed a complaint on Feb. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Ultraproof Inc., Ultraproof Inc., Lijun Liu, Mingfeng Li Does 1 through 10 alleging patent infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Spigen Korea Co. LTD suffered damages to its business from having its patent infringed. The plaintiff holds Ultraproof Inc., Ultraproof Inc., Lijun Liu, Mingfeng Li Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly manufactured and imported iPhone cases that infringe plaintiff's patented designs.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, interest, all legal fees, treble damages and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Heedong Chae and Karen Kim of East West Law Group in Los Angeles.
