Service Printing Co. alleged to owe more than $12,000 to labor group retirement plan

Late 07

LOS ANGELES – A retirement fund alleges an employer did not pay a withdrawal liability fee.

GCIU-Employer Retirement Fund and board of trustees of the GCIU-Employer Retirement Fund filed a complaint on Feb. 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Service Printing Co. alleging that the employer failed to make benefit contribution to the labor group.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that the defendant withdrew from participating in the plaintiffs' fund in 2009. The plaintiffs hold Service Printing Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly did not pay the withdrawal liability fee.

The plaintiffs seek payment of $12,377, interest on all unpaid funds due and owing, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Kerry K. Fennelly and Valentina S. Mindirgasova of Cornwell & Baldwin in Escondido.
