Design Collection Inc. alleges Bloomingdales Inc., Interzan LLC infringed designs

LOS ANGELES – Interzan LLC and Bloomingdales Inc. are accused of manufacturing and/or selling garments made of infringing fabrics.

Design Collection Inc. filed a complaint on Feb. 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Bloomingdales Inc.; Interzan LLC, doing business as Romeo & Juliet; and Does 1 through 10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business from having its fabric designs copied. The plaintiff holds Bloomingdales Inc.; Interzan LLC, doing business as Romeo & Juliet; and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly supplied garments to retailers or sold garments the feature plaintiff's fabric designs without permission.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendants, all profits, statutory damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Stephen M. Doniger, Scott A. Burroughs and David Shein of Doniger/Burroughs in Venice.
