DoorDash driver alleges he was not reimbursed, paid minimum wage

LOS ANGELES – A driver alleges his employer did not reimburse him for employment-related expenses and violated other labor codes.

Cody Lyons filed a complaint on behalf of individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated filed a complaint on Feb. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against DoorDash Inc. and Does 1 through 100 alleging violation of the labor code and the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he started to work for the defendants in December 2015. The plaintiff holds DoorDash Inc. and Does 1 through 100 responsible because the defendants allegedly paid him as an exempt independent contractor, failed to reimburse employment-related expenses, failed to pay a minimum wage or overtime compensation, provide meal and rest periods and failed to maintain accurate time and pay records.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an order appointing plaintiff as representative of the proposed class and his counsel as class counsel, award for compensatory and liquidated damages, attorneys’ fees and costs and such other injunctive and equitable relief.
