Man alleges he received spam texts from hair restoration company

LOS ANGELES – A consumer alleges a company specializing in medical hair restoration unlawfully sent him spam text messages.

Robert Campbell filed a complaint on behalf of himself and other persons similarly situated on Feb. 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Bosley Medical Institute Inc., doing business as Bosley Inc., alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleged that he has suffered from invasion of his privacy and violations of his statutory rights caused by defendant's unsolicited promotional text messages. The plaintiffs hold Bosley Medical Institute Inc., doing business Bosley Inc., responsible because the defendant allegedly engaged in an invasive form of advertising and unlawfully utilized an autodialer.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant, certify class action, appoint representative and counsel, damages of $500 per violation and $1,500 per willful violation, declaratory and injunctive relief, disgorge any ill-gotten funds, costs, expenses, and further relief as the court deems just.
