My Taco Guy claims My Taco Man is infringing trademark

Trademark 02

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles limited liability company alleges its mark is being used by a similar business.

My Taco Guy LLC filed a complaint on Feb. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Taco Man Corp., doing business as My Taco Man and My Taco Man Catering, et al. alleging trademark infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it is the owner of the My Taco Guy mark and claims that it suffered damages to its business. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly use fake designations that are substantially similar to the plaintiff's mark.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, enjoin the defendants, treble damages, profits, punitive damages, all legal fees, interest, and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Rasheed M. McWilliams and Obi I. Iloputaife of Cotman IP Law Group PLC in Pasadena.
