Phone 02

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles individual claims a debt collector called him at a harassing rate.

Joey Tate filed a complaint on Feb. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Progressive Finance Holdings LLC alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages from receiving several collection calls from the defendant. He alleges the defendant placed calls at an excessive and harassing rate. The plaintiff holds Progressive Finance Holdings LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly used an automatic telephone dialing system to call the plaintiff and did so without his consent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages, treble damages, actual damages, all legal fees, punitive damages and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Trinette G. Kent of Lemberg Law LLC in Wilton, Connecticut.
