Insurance 01

LOS ANGELES – A San Bernardino County man claims that he is still disabled and that his benefits were wrongfully terminated.

Miguel Navarro filed a complaint on Feb. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Sedgwick CMS, Southern California Edison Co., Southern California Edison Co. Long Term Disability Plan and Does 1 through 10 citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2015, he became disabled and was initially paid long-term disability benefits until his claim was terminated in June 2016. The plaintiff holds Sedgwick CMS, Southern California Edison Co., Southern California Edison Co. Long Term Disability Plan and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly upheld their decision to deny plaintiff's disability benefits despite still being disabled according to the terms of the plan.

The plaintiff seeks all benefits due to him plus interest, all legal fees, and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Charles J. Fleishman of The Fleishman Law Firm in Woodland Hills.
