LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County woman alleges her privacy was invaded because of collection calls.
Michelle Adame filed a complaint on March 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Ally Financial Inc. alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that beginning in 2012, she suffered damages from receiving several collection calls. She alleges she never provided her number to the defendant. The plaintiff holds Ally Financial Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly kept on calling the plaintiff despite her request to stop calling.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages, injunctive relief, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Abbas Kazerounian and Jason A. Ibey of Kazerouni Law Group in Costa Mesa and Joshua B. Swigart of Hyde & Swigart in San Diego.
