LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County surgeon alleges he has not been paid for services he provided.
Adel F. Samaan M.D. filed a complaint on March 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division against Aetna Life Insurance Co., Aetna Life & Casualty (Bermuda) LTD and Does 1 through 100 citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages from not being paid for services rendered to the defendants' plan members. The plaintiff holds Aetna Life Insurance Co., Aetna Life & Casualty (Bermuda) LTD and Does 1 through 100 responsible because the defendants allegedly refused to honor plaintiff's claim for medical services provided for their members.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, interest, and all legal fees. He is represented by Richard D. Williams and Mina Hakakian of Lytton & Williams LLP in Los Angeles.
