LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles developer of the computer game League of Legends alleges a website is selling stolen accounts from its users.
Riot Games Inc. filed a complaint on March 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Divinesmurfs, also known as Elitesmurfs, Zachary Kaufman and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement, breach of contract and intentional interference with contractual relations.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business. The plaintiff holds Divinesmurfs, Kaufman and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly sell stolen accounts from League of Legends game players.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks general and specific damages, to enjoin the defendants, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Aaron J. Moss and Joshua M. Geller of Greenberg Glusker Fields Claman & Machtinger LLP in Los Angeles.
