LOS ANGELES — Five attorneys from Sklar Kirsh LLP, a corporate, real-estate and entertainment/media law firm, have been selected for the Super Lawyers list, according to news release.
The Super Lawyers is a rating service of lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of achievement and peer recognition from all 50 states and Washington, D.C., according to the Super Lawyers website. The selection process includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. The list and profiles of those selected appear in Super Lawyers Magazine and is distributed to attorneys in the state or region and the American Bar Association-accredited law-school libraries. It is also published as a special section in selected city and regional magazines across the country.
The following Sklar Kirsh attorneys were selected for the Super Lawyers list:
• Jeffrey A. Sklar is a founding partner of the firm and the chair of the firm’s corporate practice, according to the firm's website. His serves clients from areas ranging from individual and early stage companies to family offices and major corporations. He advises clients in areas such as advertising, alternative energy, apparel, consumer products, entertainment, health care, restaurants/hospitality, social media and technology.
Sklar began his career with Alschuler Grossman Stein & Kahan LLP from 2001-04 as a corporate lawyer. From 2004-10, he practiced with Loeb & Loeb LLP’s corporate department before opening Sklar Law, P.C. Sklar and Andrew Kirsh founded Sklar Kirsh LLP in 2013.
• Andrew T. Kirsh, a founding partner of the firm, chairs the firm’s real-estate practice. As a commercial real-estate transactional attorney, his clients include national, regional and local investors, funds, developers, operators, syndicators, private-equity providers and lenders.
Kirsh started his career with the global firm Latham & Watkins as a real-estate attorney in its Los Angeles office, where he practiced from 2000-06. He also assisted in Goodwin Procter's opening of its Century City office, where he practiced from 2006-09. Before opening Sklar Kirsh LLP in 2013, he was a partner of Raines Feldman, a Beverly Hills firm.
• Jennifer L. Borow, a firm partner, has 25 years of broad transactional-law experience and was recently a partner at Loeb & Loeb LLP in its Los Angeles office. She also has worked at the Century City office of O'Melveny & Myers LLP.
• Stephen I. Halper is of counsel at the firm and has 35 years to “addressing the needs of entrepreneurs, emerging growth companies and investors in the organization of business entities and private-investment funds, seed and venture-capital financing mergers and acquisitions,” according to his profile page.
• Mark C. Nicoletti, a partner, represents “real-estate funds, individual investors and developers, home builders and institutional and non-institutional lenders,” according to his profile page.
