LOS ANGELES – An Alta Loma consumer claims a financial institution engaged in unlawful debt collection practices.

Susan Nassar filed a complaint on Feb. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Citibank NA alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendant contacted her in an attempt to collect an alleged debt and that she instructed it to stop calling in September 2016. The plaintiff holds Citibank NA responsible because the defendant allegedly contacted the plaintiff 150 times after she revoked her consent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, statutory damages, court costs, witness fees and other fees incurred, and any other relief that the court deems appropriate. She is represented by Taylor M. Tieman of Krohn & Moss LTD in Manhattan Beach.
