SAN FRANCISCO – A San Francisco County woman claims her claim for medical benefits was wrongfully denied.
Courtney Weaver filed a complaint on March 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Cigna Health and Life Insurance Co. alleging violation of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages from having her claim for medical expenses for treatment at Monte Nido Vista denied by the defendant. The plaintiff holds Cigna Health and Life Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly denied plaintiff's claim based on its claim that her treatment did not meet its medical necessity criteria.
The plaintiff seeks payment of health insurance benefits, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Lisa S. Kantor and Peter S. Sessions of Kantor & Kantor in Northridge.
