LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles jewelry wholesale manufacturer and distributor is accused of copying Tacori's Crescent Jewelry designs.
Tacori Enterprises filed a complaint on March 7 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Kattan Diamonds and Jewelry Inc. alleging copyright and trademark infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages, including lost profits to its business. The plaintiff holds Kattan Diamonds and Jewelry Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly sells unauthorized and infringing copies of plaintiff's jewelry designs.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendant, award damages to the plaintiff, disgorgement, profits, exemplary or punitive damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Howard A. Kroll of Tucker Ellis LLP in Los Angeles.
