SAN FRANCISCO – The maker of "Candy Crush Saga" alleges three of its most popular games have been cloned by a Chinese company.

King.com limited filed a complaint on March 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Joyfox Co. Limited alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that "Bubble Witch 2 Saga," "Candy Crush Saga" and "Candy Crush Soda Saga" were cloned. The plaintiff holds Joyfox Co. Limited responsible because the defendant's "Bubble Mania" and "Cookie Crush" games allegedly feature many of the plaintiff's copyrightable elements.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks injunction to enjoin the defendant, award damages and profits to the plaintiff, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Jennifer L. Kelly of Fenwick & West LLP in San Francisco.
