Law money 08

SAN FRANCISCO – Firefighters for the city of Santa Rosa allege they were underpaid for overtime hours that they worked.

Timothy Aboudara Jr., Jonathan Aarsheim, Jon Abers, et al. filed a complaint on behalf of all similarly situated individuals on March 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against the city of Santa Rosa alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs' employment and compensation is governed by a collective bargaining agreement. The plaintiffs holds city of Santa Rosa responsible because the defendant allegedly undervalued the regular pay rate or excluded certain remunerations that the plaintiffs' overtime compensation is based on, which has reduced the amount.

The plaintiffs seek unpaid overtime compensation plus interest, liquidated damages, injunctive relief, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. They are represented by David E. Mastagni, Isaac S. Stevens, and Ace T. Tate of Mastagni Holstedt, APC in Sacramento.
