Woman seeks payment of long-term disability benefits she alleges were wrongfully terminated

SAN DIEGO – A Carlsbad individual formerly employed by Allergan Inc. claims her long-term disability benefits were wrongfully terminated.

Sally Barr filed a complaint on March 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California against Aetna Life Insurance Co. alleging violation of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2012, she became disabled was initially approved for disability benefits until her claim was terminated in 2014. The plaintiff holds Aetna Life Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly upheld its decision to terminate plaintiff's disability benefits despite having sufficient medical proof for her disability.

The plaintiff seeks payment long-term disability benefits to the plaintiff plus interest, all legal fees, and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Robert J. Rosati in Fresno.
