LOS ANGELES – A photographer claims a La Mirada pest control business used three of his photographs without permission.

Alexander Wild filed a complaint on March 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Legacy Termite Control Inc. alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages from having his photographs used without his consent. The plaintiff holds Legacy Termite Control Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly published plaintiff's copyrighted works and used them on its website to promote its business without authorization.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages in an amount up to $150,000 for each infringement, enjoin the defendant, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Mathew K. Higbee of Higbee & Associates in Santa Ana.
