Artist Curtis Kulig alleges Illinois corporation is selling infringing products

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles artist, illustrator and photographer alleges his trademark Love Me tag was used without his permission.

Curtis Kulig filed a complaint on March 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Kroto Inc., doing business as Icanvas Art, and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendants used his art print featuring the Love Me tag and are selling it at a lower price than his authorized prints. He also alleges the defendants are selling three other pieces that incorporate his signature elements without his authorization.

The plaintiff demands a jury trial and seeks all damages, interest, enjoin the defendants, order the defendants to recall all infringing goods, disgorgement, punitive damages, restitution, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just.
