LOS ANGELES — A New York company is suing Ross Stores Inc. and up to 10 unknown individuals, citing alleged copyright infringement.

City Prints LLC filed a complaint on April 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against the defendants alleging that they copied and reproduced plaintiff's fabric designs.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business from having its copyrighted design used without permission. The plaintiff holds Ross Stores responsible because it allegedly sells garments made out of fabrics that bear plaintiff's designs.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendant, as well as all profits and damages, statutory damages, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as this court deems just. The plaintiff is represented by Stephen M. Doniger, Scott A. Burroughs, Trevor W. Barrett and Justin M. Gomes of Doniger/Burroughs in Venice.
