SAN FRANCISCO – A Mississippi man alleges he was injured as a result of taking a prescription drug.
Jermaine Anderson filed a complaint on April 3 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Janssen Pharmaceuticals Inc., also known as Ortho McNeil Janssen Pharmaceuticals Inc. et al. alleging failure to warn, negligence, fraud, breach of express warranty and other counts.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered physical injuries, including rapid weight gain and hyperprolactinemia, from taking Risperdal. The plaintiff holds Janssen Pharmaceuticals Inc., also known as Ortho McNeil Janssen Pharmaceuticals Inc. et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to warn the plaintiff regarding the potential harmful effects of taking Risperdal.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, medical expenses, consequential damages, disgorgement, restitution, punitive damages, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as this court deems just.
