Liberty Life Assurance Co. of Boston alleged to have wrongfully terminated benefits

SAN FRANCISCO – A Pennsylvania woman alleges that her long-term disability benefits were wrongfully terminated.

Christine Zak filed a complaint on April 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Liberty Life Assurance Co. of Boston alleging violation of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she became disabled after an auto accident in 2012 and was paid disability benefits from 2012 to 2015. The plaintiff holds Liberty Life Assurance Co. of Boston responsible because the defendant terminated her disability payments when the plaintiff met all the criteria.

The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by P. Randall Noah of Law Offices of P. Randall Noah in Orinda.
