Anchor General Insurance Co. seeks declaration regarding claim of woman who was shot while in car

SAN FRANCISCO – An insurance company is seeking declaratory relief regarding uninsured motorist coverage.

Anchor General Insurance Co. filed a complaint on April 4 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Latonya Faye Williams and Does 1 through 10 seeking declaratory relief.

According to the complaint, Williams was shot while stopped at a stop sign in her car at the intersection of Revere Avenue and Ingalls Street in San Francisco in January 2015. The plaintiff alleges that Williams made a claim for uninsured motorist coverage for bodily injury, but the plaintiff did not provide this specific coverage. The suit states no physical contact was made with her vehicle by another.

The plaintiff seeks declaration that the defendant is not covered under the uninsured motorist provision, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Paul A. Buckley and James F. Hayes of Taylor Anderson LLP in San Diego.
