FRESNO – A Huron resident is alleged to have failed to pay a claim from the Department of Health Care Services.

Jennifer Kent, director of the Department of Health Care Services, filed a complaint on April 19 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Bacilio Tapia and Does 1 through 20

According to the complaint, the department paid more than $118,000 for health care services to the defendant's decedent through Medi-Cal. After the decedent's death in 2014, the plaintiff sent a creditor's claim payment to the defendant. The plaintiff holds Tapia and Does 1 through 20 responsible because the defendants allegedly have not paid the claim.

The plaintiff seeks judgment in the sum of $118,214.34 plus interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Xavier Becerra, Niromi W. Pefeiffer and Grant Lien.
