SAN FRANCISCO – A veterinarian alleges his employer has discriminated against him because of his age.

Philip Watt filed a complaint on April 11 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against VCA San Francisco Veterinary Specialists LP; VCA Antech Inc., also known as VCA Inc.; and Does 1-10 alleging breach written contract, age discrimination and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is a 57-year-old veterinarian and shareholder of SFVS. The plaintiff holds CA San Francisco Veterinary Specialists LP; VCA Antech Inc., also known as VCA Inc.; and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly discriminated against the plaintiff by assigning fewer referrals, cases and surgeries to him and giving majority of the cases to younger employees. He also alleges he has not been compensated or has been undercompensated for the work he has performed.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks general and special damages in an amount of more than $25,000, punitive and exemplary damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Philip J. Wang and Traci M. Keith of Stoel Rives LLP in San Francisco.
