Individual alleged to have defaulted on two education loans

SAN FRANCISCO – A San Mateo County individual is alleged to have defaulted on two student loans.

United States of America, on behalf of the Department of Education, filed a complaint on May 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Emmanuel R. Marasigan alleging that the individual failed to settle his debt with the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Marasigan allegedly failed to pay the principal amount of his debts to the plaintiff plus interest.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $5,834.41 plus interest of $10,797.04; the principal amount of $3,121.29 plus interest of $6,419.09;  all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Kathryn E. Van Houten of Irsfeld, Irsfeld & Younger LLP in Glendale.
