Uber passenger claims he suffered brain injury in collision

SAN FRANCISCO – An Uber passenger alleges he was injured when a driver made an unsafe left turn and struck the car he was riding in.

Amor Nelson Qutami and Munther Qutami filed a complaint on April 18 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Uber Technologies Inc., Rasier LLC, Rasier-CA LLC, Aswad Khalid Moreland, Anthony Garcia and Does 1-40 alleging negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 8, Munther Qutami was a passenger in an Uber ride driven by Moreland on Naglee Avenue and that Garcia caused a collision. Munther Qutami alleges he suffered serious physical injuries, including a major traumatic brain injury. 

The plaintiffs seek damages, interest, special and general damages, punitive damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Christopher B. Nolan, Aimee E. Kirby, Sandra Isabelle C. Tan and Cristina Garcia of The Dolan Law Firm in San Francisco.
