State Farm seeks more than $11,000 for collision damages from driver

SAN FRANCISCO – An insurance firm is seeking damages from a San Francisco County driver after a collision in Emeryville.

State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. filed a complaint on May 17 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Alicia Bert and Does 1-40 seeking subrogation recovery.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that its insured Susan Van Norman suffered damages to her vehicle after Bert negligently caused her vehicle to collide with Van Norman's on the Interstate 80 off-ramp to Powell Street in August 2016. The plaintiff alleges it paid more than $11,000 for the claim and that it is entitled to its right of subrogation to recover the sum plus interest.

The plaintiff seeks sum of $11,195.37, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Richard L. Mahfouz II and Shelby Poteet of Clerkin, Sinclair & Mahfouz LLP in San Diego.
