LOS ANGELES – A Pittsburg, California man alleges that a debt collector keeps calling him for a debt he does not owe.

Doug Eckstein filed a complaint on May 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Credit Control Services Inc., doing business as Credit Collection Services, alleging violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in April 2017, he suffered damages from receiving several collection calls from the defendant for a debt he does not owe. The plaintiff holds Credit Control Services Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly kept on calling the plaintiff despite his request to stop calling him.

The plaintiff seeks actual damages, statutory damages, treble damages, punitive damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Stephanie R. Tatar of Tatar Law Firm APC in Burbank.
