Individual claims Peddle LLC sent unsolicited text messages

LOS ANGELES – A Harbor City woman has filed a class-action suit against a company that purchases "junk" cars over allegations of unwanted text messages.

Eva Hulsey filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on May 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division against Peddle LLC alleging that the Texas company sent several unsolicited text messages to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages from receiving unwanted text messages from the defendant beginning in February 2016. The plaintiff holds Peddle LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly sent text messages to the plaintiff without her consent and sent them dispute her number being registered with the National Do Not Call Registry.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages of $500, disgorgement, injunction against the defendant, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Peter J. Gimino III of The Gimino Law Office APC in Irvine.
