Royal Printex Inc. files copyright infringement suit against Rainbow USA, others

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County corporation alleges one of its textile designs was copied without its permission.

Royal Printex Inc. filed a complaint on May 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Skiva International Inc., Rainbow USA Inc., Ross Stores Inc., DD's  Discounts, National Stores Inc. and Does 1 through 10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages from having its R21632 design copied without its consent. The plaintiff holds Skiva International Inc., Rainbow USA Inc., Ross Stores Inc., DD's Discounts, National Stores Inc. and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly sold or manufactured garments that bear plaintiff's designs.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants, profits, statutory damages, all legal fees, interest, and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Stephen M. Doniger, Scott A. Burroughs and Trevor W. Barrett of Doniger/Burroughs in Venice.
