FRESNO – The city of Fresno has filed a suit seeking damages after a driver struck one of its buses.

The city of Fresno filed a complaint on May 8 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Vanna Hem and Does 1-5 alleging property damage and seeking workers' compensation subrogation.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 10, 2015, plaintiff's employee was driving plaintiff's bus in the city when defendant hit the rear end of the bus, shoving it forward. Plaintiff alleges it suffered property damage, loss of use of the vehicle and workers’ compensation benefits paid to its employee.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for property damage in the amount of $6,155.08 for property damage, loss of use of the vehicle amounting to $3,500 and workers’ compensation benefits paid in the amount of $28,090, costs of suit, attorneys’ fees and such other just and proper relief. It is represented by Douglas T. Sloan and Kenneth J. Jorgensen of the city of Fresno.
