Stella.Ai Inc. alleges competitor is using Stella mark without authorization

SAN FRANCISCO – A Palo Alto corporation is accused of unlawfully using a New York corporation's mark.

Stella.Ai Inc. filed a complaint on May 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Stellar A.I., Inc. alleging unfair competition and false designation of origin.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff has been using the Stella mark since February 2016 and operates a website to match applicants with a job. The plaintiff holds Stellar A.I. Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly used a confusingly similar mark as the plaintiff to advertise its similar service.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendant from further using plaintiff's mark, order to transfer the domain name being used by the defendant to the plaintiff's control, profits, actual damages, compensatory damages, punitive damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. It is represented by Jeffrey E. Faucette of Skaggs Faucette LLP in San Francisco.
