SAN DIEGO – An Alabama man formerly employed by Apple Inc. alleges his disability benefits were wrongfully terminated.
Jared Eastman filed a complaint on May 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Life Insurance Co. of North America and Apple Inc. Health and Welfare Benefit Plan citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was approved to receive disability benefits in 2015 and that the benefits were denied in April 2016.
The plaintiff holds Life Insurance Co. of North America and Apple Inc. Health and Welfare Benefit Plan responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to afford the plaintiff a full and fair review of his claim for continued benefits.
The plaintiff seeks order the defendant to pay disability benefits to the plaintiff, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Geoffrey V. White of Law Office of Geoffrey V. White in Orinda.
