SAN FRANCISCO – A San Francisco County man alleges that his claims for short and long-term disability benefits were wrongfully denied.

Daniel Landeck filed a complaint on June 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Unum Life Insurance Co. of America alleging that the insurance firm denied plaintiff's claim for disability benefits.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he became disabled in 2015 and applied for disability benefits but was denied. The plaintiff holds Unum Life Insurance Co. of America responsible because the defendant allegedly upheld its decision to deny plaintiff's benefits despite having sufficient medical proof.

The plaintiff seeks disability benefits at the rate of $10,141 per month, long-term benefits at the rate of $9,126.99 per month, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Charles B. Perkin and Susan D. Pelmulder of Rose Perkins Pelmulder in Los Gatos.
