LOS ANGELES – Target and others are accused of selling clothing that used a textile design without authorization.
Standard Fabrics International Inc. filed a complaint on May 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Target Corp., Turn On Products Inc., doing business as Almost Famous Clothing, and Does 1 through 10 alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages from having its 7766 design copied without its consent. The plaintiff holds Target Corp., Turn On Products Inc. and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly sells garments made out of fabrics that bear plaintiff's designs.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendants, profits, statutory damages, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as the court deems just.
