Charter Communications alleged to have harassed man with calls

Phone 06

LOS ANGELES – A Whittier man claims that Charter Communications harassed him with unwanted phone calls.

John Torres filed a complaint on June 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Charter Communications alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages from receiving several unwanted calls from the defendant from July to October 2016. The plaintiff holds Charter Communications responsible because the defendant allegedly kept on calling the plaintiff despite his request to stop calling and used an automatic dialing system.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages of $500, treble damages of $1,500, injunctive relief, and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Amy Lynn Bennecoff Ginsburg of Kimmel & Silverman PC in Ambler, Pennsylvania.
