GC Services Limited Partnership alleged to have not verified debt

LOS ANGELES – A consumer alleges that a Texas-based debt collector failed to respond to a request to verify a debt.

Theng Khim filed a complaint on June 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against GC Services Limited Partnership alleging violation of the Federal Debt Collection Procedures Act.

According to the complaint, the defendant sent the plaintiff a collection letter and that the plaintiff made a written request for validation of the debt in February. The suit states the defendant did not respond to the plaintiff's request but mailed another collection letter in April.

The plaintiff seeks statutory damages of $1,000. He is representing himself.
