LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County individual alleges that her disability benefits were wrongfully terminated after receiving benefits for almost three years.
Anahid Minassian filed a complaint on June 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Life Insurance Co. of North America alleging violation of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she became disabled in September 2013 and applied for disability benefits, which were paid from December 2013 to August 2016. She alleges the defendant terminated her benefits on its conclusion that she no longer met the requirements for continued benefits.
The plaintiff holds Life Insurance Co. of North America responsible because she alleges she is still disabled within the meaning of the plan.
The plaintiff seeks plan benefits due and owing, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Robert F. Keehn of Law Office of Robert F. Keehn in Los Angeles.
