LOS ANGELES – A Wisconsin corporation doing business in California is alleged to have infringed a textile design.
Universal Dyeing & Printing Inc. filed a complaint on June 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Mason Cos. Inc. and Does 1 through 10 alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages from having its UA 16245 design copied. The plaintiff holds Mason Cos. Inc. and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendant allegedly sells garments made out of fabrics that bear plaintiff's designs.
The plaintiff seeks an award all profits, statutory damages, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Stephen M. Doniger, Scott A. Burroughs and Frank Gregory Casella of Doniger/Burroughs in Venice.
