LOS ANGELES — The U.S. government is suing a Los Angeles man, alleging breach of contract and an unpaid debt.

The United States of America filed a complaint July 10 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Michael E. McCormack, alleging he has failed to settle his debt with the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, United States has suffered monetary damages due to unpaid debt because the defendant has failed to pay the principal amount of his debt plus interest.

The U.S. government seeks the principal amount of $3,000, plus interest of $2,794 with further interest at 3 percent annually, penalties/administrative charges of $87,  legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. It is represented by attorney William I. Goldsmith and Michael L. Goldsmith of Goldsmith & Hull APC in Northridge, California.
