FRESNO — A married couple is suing Fresno County, alleging the defendant's negligence led to the wife suffering bicycle injuries.

Melissa Ann Rose and Jordan Rose filed a complaint June 27 in Fresno County Superior Court against the county of Fresno and Does 1-100, alleging that they wrongfully caused personal injuries and damages.

According to the complaint, on March 19, Melissa Rose was riding her bicycle along Aubrerry Road when she was unable to avoid the dirt, gravel and foliage in the bike lane of the road, lost control her bicycle and fell into the road.

The suit says Rose was subsequently struck by a passing motorist and suffered severe and painful injuries, including a broken leg and injuries to both shoulders, while Jordan Rose has suffered loss of consortium.

The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to take appropriate measures to protect cyclists against the dangerous condition.

The Roses seek trial by jury, general and non-economic damages, cost of suit, pre-judgment interest and all other just and proper relief. They are represented by attorneys Douglas L. Gordon and Lyndsie N. Russell of the Law Offices of Miles, Sears & Eanni in Fresno.
